The Design Futurist Internship is a student-centered program that teaches how to research, prototype and deliver design products. Interns are primarily involved in the Kohl’s Design It! Lab Quick Shop and Workshop. They will educate the public on design inspired by science, environment and technology.
Specific projects are also assigned to each intern to enhance our Kohl’s Design It! Lab products as well as enhance their portfolio. Interns will also receive training on equipment, such as laser cutters, CNC sample maker, industrial-sized vacuum former, and Wacom tablets. Participation also brings opportunities to exhibit at Discovery World, write for the Kohl’s Design It! Lab newspaper, and volunteer with summer camps.
The Kohl’s Design It! Lab looks for a diverse group of creative students interested in architecture, art, education, fashion, industrial design, journalism, mechanical engineering, or the sciences to apply.
Must be a high school, undergraduate, or graduate student. To apply, please download the application here and submit to the Kohl’s Design It! Quick Shop Coordinator, Ben Tyjeski, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
